The Tagalog language is syllabic, meaning every consonant has a vowel alongside it. The vowels are a, e, i , o, u, like in the Latin alphabet. However, they are pronounced differently. "A" is pronounced like the a in father, "E" is like the e in friend, "I" like in ski, "O" like in show, and the "U" like the u in cute. The Tagalog alphabet does not include the letters C, F, J, Q, V, X, Z. but it does include the extra letter of "Ng." In it, you write from left to right, unlike other Asian languages. If you look below, you can see a table with simple words. Click on the two tabs to see two different tables. Also, watch the powerpoint, but the links and animations will not work on the one shown. To see the working hyperlinks and animation click on the file.
